I recently celebrated my twentieth anniversary as a wedding photographer — twenty years, more than 700 weddings, and countless love stories. So when my friend Cody asked me to photograph his wedding to his fiancé, Maddi, I didn't hesitate. Cody is an incredibly talented photographer, and we worked alongside each other for years. When I realized his wedding date fell on the exact day of my twenty-year work anniversary, it felt like the perfect way to honor the milestone — by capturing the day of someone who has meant so much to me.

I remember when Cody moved to Colorado, and soon after, when he met Maddi. It was instantly clear he had found his match. It's a surreal gift of our time to be able to watch someone's life unfold through social media, and I've loved following along as the two of them built their careers and spent their free time carving down snow-covered slopes together.

Their wedding weekend was everything you could hope for — warm, welcoming families, breathtaking mountain scenery, and a couple so stunning and joyful that the photos simply couldn’t miss. Their intimate ceremony by a babbling brook in Beaver Creek set the tone with tender glances and heartfelt vows, and the celebration wrapped with a small-but-mighty dance party at Alpine & Antlers.
